A sign stating that a Jack in the Box is coming "soonish" to an area in Saratoga Springs is shown July 22, 2024.Burgeoning population growth in Utah County cities like Saratoga Springs also comes with more options for fast food.
A national chain that recently returned to the Wasatch Front is looking to open a location in Utah County.
A sign reading “opening soonish” with the Jack in the Box logo has been spotted on Redwood Road just south of Crossroads Boulevard in Saratoga Springs directly across the street from Vasa gym.
Construction has not yet begun, nor has there been a groundbreaking on the property.
Up until last summer, the popular food chain’s only Utah offerings were in Southern Utah.
In June 2023, Jack in the Box opened its first Northern Utah location in over a decade at the corner of 2100 South and State Street in Salt Lake City.
The anticipation led to cars wrapping around the building with customers waiting in long lines eager to enjoy the restaurant’s menu options.
Even prior to that opening, more locations were announced, including Saratoga Springs, Fox 13 reported last March.
The Saratoga Springs Planning Commission approved site plans for the location earlier this year.
“The city is excited that Jack in The Box chose to invest in our community and build a restaurant here. Residents have voiced excitement at having this additional food option in the community,” city spokesperson Ann Elise Harrison said in an emailed statement.
Jack In the Box did not respond to the Daily Herald’s emailed inquiry about the location.
Within the past year, other Utah locations have opened in Ogden, Syracuse, South Jordan and West Valley City. Locations are set to open in Logan, Layton and Kaysville in September, according to the fast-food chain’s website.
