An ongoing investigation into who may be behind the acts of suspected vandalism directed toward the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple near Spanish Fork is seemingly gaining some momentum.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post Wednesday that it is looking for what it believes to be the suspect’s vehicle.
A blurry photo shared by the agency shows what appears to be a dark-colored pickup truck.
Investigators are hoping that the community can identify and help with locating the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office said late last month that roughly 20-30 shots were allegedly fired at the temple over the course of several nights. The incidents resulted in numerous damages to structure, leaving bullet holes, shell casings and broken windows behind, prompting an active investigation that’s being aided by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
“An anonymous source is offering a reward of $10,000 for a tip that leads to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect or suspects,” the sheriff’s office said.
As the Daily Herald reported earlier this month, several religious groups have spoken out in support of the Hindu community, calling the acts hateful, heartbreaking and unacceptable.
The sheriff’s office is asking for anyone who may have more information that leads to an arrest of the person or people responsible for the attacks to call 801-851-4024 and ask to speak with a deputy about the damage to the Krishna Temple.
Since that line is not continuously monitored, the public is encouraged to leave a message with any pertinent information regarding the case.
The sheriff’s office says tips submitted by the public can remain anonymous.
