A Lehi Police Department squad vehicle is shown in an undated photo.A registered sex offender arrested earlier this month now faces a batch of new charges related to alleged child sexual abuse and possessing/manufacturing child pornography, the Lehi Police Department announced in a social media post Sunday.
According to court documents, Ryan Kay Limb, 60, is facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of sexual abuse of a child and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Authorities believe the incidents occurred between December 2023 and March 2025, according to court documents.
While Lehi authorities chose not to identify Limb, a search of the Utah County Jail’s inmate log and court records obtained by the Daily Herald matched the charges mentioned in the Lehi Police Department’s announcement.
In January, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was notified by someone helping Limb with his phone regarding several images of child sex abuse material that reportedly were discovered on the device, court documents allege.
The organization contacted detectives with the Lehi Special Victims Unit, who made contact with Limb and executed a search warrant of his phone, the court documents state.
Numerous explicit images of minors ranging in age from 6 to 13 were visible on Limb’s phone “that appeared to have been taken by the defendant,” court documents allege.
In a previous case, Limb was convicted of one count of attempted sodomy on a child and four counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child.
The Utah sex offender registry shows Limb was convicted of that offense in August 2005 and released in 2013.
Lehi police said the current investigation is ongoing “and further charges may be forthcoming.”
Limb is currently being held without bail at the Utah County Jail.
