A popular television drama that depicts the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples is returning to Utah County for filming, the Utah Film Commission announced.

Season Six of “The Chosen,” produced by Dallas Jenkins, will be partially filmed in locations around the county.

“We love filming in Utah and are pleased to be back in Utah for another season of ‘The Chosen,'” show president Brad Peo said in a press release. “The people are wonderful, the landscape is stunning, and the locations we use work perfectly.”

Though the show’s home set is located in Midlothian, Texas, “The Chosen” has previously filmed on the motion picture set in Goshen owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Utah Film Commission also announced a handful of movies that will be filmed in Utah this year, including an untitled HBO original made by Jesse Armstrong that features Steve Carell. That begins filming in Park City this month.

Also to be shot in Utah is “Haul Out the Holly 3,” directed by Maclain Nelson, and a holiday film, “Christmas Roses,” created by John Lyde.
