Letter: Disagreeing with opinion in July 7 edition
The recent column by Froma Harrop claiming the rise in gas prices is not Joe Biden’s fault, was one of the most disingenuous articles I have ever read. It is a matter of record that on his first day in office that Pres. Biden stopped all drilling for oil on federal lands and canceled the Keystone Pipeline. This significantly decreased the amount of oil on the world market. When supply is decreased, the price goes up. Also, had he allowed the Keystone Project to continue, it would have been completed by now. We would have in the neighborhood of 900,000 barrels of oil coming into our country each day from Canada, an ally. This is a much better alternative than begging for oil from Iran, Venezuela and Russia who don’t like us much. The significant increase in the price of oil is Joe Biden’s fault. It’s obvious to anyone who has an elementary understanding of economics.
