Letter: Your firework display should not be equal to your patriotism

By Staff | Jul 9, 2022

I get it, you love America. So do I. You love fireworks. So do I. But blasting a 21-mortar “salute” three doors away from me at 10:15 p.m. has my baby screaming in terror. Now, any “pops” she hears has her instantly crying. I’ve worked hard on my day off with home projects, I don’t want to have this kind of night. I even have a sound machine to dull out a LOT of the sounds and it is doing a darn good job.

Please consider having your grand finale done by 10 p.m. so that I at least can know that it won’t keep going on and on. Or even better: Try to not rattle the whole neighborhood’s windows. Either or both of these actions would be a big help to my wife and I and our 4 little kids.

Please remember us come the 24th. Thank you.
