Letter: Disappointed with omission of Jesus on Good Friday

Apr 23, 2022

I recently stopped by Provo Mall and went inside the Daily Herald office to state how much I enjoy your newspaper. My wife, daughter and I are from Orlando, Florida and I am a retired case manager, Pastor and was a Seminary professor. We are not LDS but I have been in three Wards in the Orlando area and in the Temple. I have had the joy to talk with at least 20 Mormon missionaries over the past 44 years. there is much I agree with but the big disparity lies in our view of who the REAL Jesus is. My comment today is the fact that I was quite disappointed in the Daily Herald yesterday (April 15) when there was not one mention of the death of Jesus. Unbelievable! I know LDS stress His life more than His death and I get that and so do I. But come on DH no mention of His death? The Apostle Paul said in Gal. 6 that he “glorified in the cross” and where there is no death there is no burial and where there is no burial there is no resurrection. Maybe next year you will mention the cross as almost all newspapers across America have done. The real Bible Jesus is Lord, not a created spirit and not the brother of Saran. I love Mormons, Jehovah Witness, etc., but they have the wrong view of Jesus. Anyways thanks for reading what I have shared from my heart. He is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Please read I Cor. 15 its amazing!
