Letter: Men and women should celebrate their differences
The current debate about men participating in women’s sports is both amusing and sad. The foundation of this issue was laid by women over the past several generations and stems from a fatal flaw in worldly views on men and women.
For generations women protested, rioted, pushed legislation and sued for the right to be treated the same as men, to insert themselves into every male institution and organization that exists. Women now wail and moan over the fact that men are doing the same thing to them.
It is amusing that now the shoe is on the other foot, men insinuating themselves into all organizations for women, that women are calling FOUL! WE CAN’T COMPETE!
It is sad that men and women have strayed so far from immutable truth.
The solution is for all of us to embrace God’s teachings concerning men and women plus God’s way of treating them. A natural outgrowth of doing this will be men and women encouraging and supporting both male only and female only organization such as clubs and sports.
Men and Women are different physically, mentally, and emotionally. Men and women each have their God Given roles and each are specially equipped for those roles. We are to treat each other with equal love and charity while celebrating those differences that are inherent in our natures. We are to walk side by side, equals in our partnership but separate in many of our roles.
In Genesis of the Old Testament God taught us, “It is not good that man should be alone, I will make him an help meet” … “A man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh”.
Yes, I am only acknowledging two genders. A life-style choice does change the fact that you are, quite simply, either male or female.
