Egos are running amok with our state representatives wanting to abolish or make it near-impossible to keep unions and/or associations. They do not know what is best for teachers and students with no experience or training! I am a public educator and have been for over 23 years. My association is the only entity I trust to protect and fight for my working conditions. If you think Utah has a teacher shortage now, it’ll only get worse if this legislation passes. Why would anyone want to be a teacher in Utah with large class sizes, lower pay, AND no freedom to choose representation from a union to fight for them? PLEASE help teachers by writing your representatives (find them at https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials) and asking them to vote ‘no’ on bills that are anti-unions/associations!
