Raymond Roger Rohatinsky

1946 –­ 2021

Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Raymond Roger Rohatinsky, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021.

Ray was born on September 9, 1946 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada to Julius and Nell Rohatinsky. Ray’s love of running brought him on scholarship to Brigham Young University. During college he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After serving as a missionary in the Franco-Belgian Mission, Ray met and married Sylvia (Beattie) Rohatinsky in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Ray and Sylvia have lived in Provo, Utah their entire married life and raised 5 children. Ray worked for Beneficial Life Insurance Company for nearly 40 years and considered all his clients his friends. He loved to go on walks, mow the lawn, watch his BYU cougars compete, and eat anything sweet followed with a 7-Up. He also loved serving in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple for many years until he suffered a stroke in 2019 that eventually led to his passing.

Ray is survived by his wife Sylvia (Beattie) Rohatinsky; children: Justin (Kimberly Harris) Rohatinsky, Tasha (Jonathan) Cook, Tara (Paul) Northcutt, Josh (Jena Mortenson) Rohatinsky, and Jared (Angela Robins) Rohatinsky; 18 grandchildren; and his siblings: Diane (Robert) Stevens, Ricky (Nancy) Rohatinsky and Greg (Patricia) Rohatinsky. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Nell (Michaelishyn) Rohatinsky, and brothers Larry Rohatinsky and Irvin Rohatinsky.

A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2021 at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E Center St. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 3 at the Grandview South LDS Stake Center, 1122 Grand Ave, Provo, Utah.
