Lee Anita Burnham

Lee Anita Burnham passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at her home in Gainesville, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Provo, Utah on January 21, 1954, graduated from Provo High in 1972, and received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Brigham Young University. She later received a second bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in medical technology. She moved to the Washington DC area in 1985 and has lived in Gainesville since 2003. She was a staunch advocate of inclusive education for children with developmental disabilities and was passionate about family history research.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Paul; sisters, Lana Mikkelsen and Beverly Allred; children, Rachel Brame (Rod), Karl Burnham, Jonathan Burnham (Crystal), Sharon Sloop (David), and David Burnham (Ashley); and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen Sagers and Jennie Skelton Sagers and sisters, Diane Sagers and Margaret Olauson. Public visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gainesville on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 6 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7 PM.
