Cheryl Ann Dewey
1956 – 2021
Cheryl Ann Dewey, 65, passed away peacefully at her home in Springville, Utah on October 2, 2021, from complications of diabetes. She was born September 9, 1956, to Gustave B. and Bonnie E. Dewey in Provo, Utah.
Cheryl graduated from Provo Senior High School in 1975, then attended and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor degree in recreational therapy. She enjoyed animals and being a mom to her dogs. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding with her family. For two summers she was the horse director for Trefoil Girl Scout Camp in Provo Canyon.
She loved cooking and especially had a talent for bread making. She baked the most delicious breads. Cheryl was always given the task of baking her homemade rolls for Thanksgiving. She loved to travel. While attending Brigham Young University, she studied a semester abroad in Europe. She also loved going to Yellowstone National Park with her family. She was always quick to laugh, especially at herself. Cheryl always loved helping people, so much so that she worked for the Utah State Hospital. Because of her calm and empathetic personality, it was a good fit.
Cheryl is survived by her siblings Steve (Emily) Dewey, Ellen (Russ) Jensen, and Karen (Jim) Hunsaker; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cheryl is loved and will be greatly missed. We thank Claudia Williams, her wonderful caregiver, for her aid and loving assistance during the past 5 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the Spring Creek Stake Center, 760 North 400 East, Springville, Utah. Friends may call from 9-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
