Marilyn Thomas Van Leuven, 88, of Orem, Utah passed away in her home surrounded by her family on October 19, 2021. Marilyn was born on July 19, 1933 in Provo, Utah to Jack and Mary Thomas. She was the oldest of two children.

She attended school in Tucumcari, New Mexico as well as Provo, Utah. She married Ivan M Van Leuven on August 31, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple, after which they had three children.

She enjoyed many activities throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, her favorite being Yellowstone, where she and Ivan visited at least once a year throughout their marriage.

Marilyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Jill (Garth) Christensen, nine grandchildren, and five and a half great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ivan M Van Leuven; son, Michael Van Leuven; daughter, KayLynn Van Leuven Palmer; sister, Ann Kump; father, Jack Daniels Thomas; and her mother, Mary Snyder Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Timpanogos Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 1000 North Main Street, Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Thursday, October 28 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
