Stephen Leon Harward

Sep 21, 2021

One of Heavenly Father’s perfect children returned to His loving arms on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Stephen Leon Harward was born in Provo, Utah, on December 13, 1974, to Leon (Connie) Harward and Kim Herbert (Bob) Briggs.

Stephen loved life, loved people, and loved sports! As a young child, he was such a sweetheart, and his big sister, Stephanie, took such good care of him. He loved playing with cousins, romping at his grandparents’ houses, and being outdoors. He was his Dad’s best pal, whether they were hunting, fishing, working together, or just playing together.

Stephen enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, and in almost every sport possible: bowling, riding the bucking calves in the rodeo, basketball, football, baseball, tennis, mini-golf, and so much more. He was such a “bright soul in a cruel world,” and everyone loved his competitive spirit. Take a moment on youtube.com, search “Stephen Harward” and enjoy many pictures of the activities he participated in as an adult.

Stephen is already being greatly missed by so many, who love him dearly. He is survived by his parents; his siblings, Stephanie (Lynn) Peaslee, Cody Harward, Machel (Brian) Johnson, James Harward, Jessica (Dustin) Gordon, and Joey (Chris) Cooper; his grandmother, LaNae Herbert, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins that have kept him in their heart, even when many miles separated them.

Stephen was preceded in death by his grandparents who were a special part of his life: Norman Heber and Carrol J Davis Harward, and Victor Herbert; his uncle, Douglas Heber Harward, and a special niece, Chelsea Peaslee.

On Saturday, September 25, 2021, Stephen will be laid to rest in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, in Hammond, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, please volunteer a little of your time to help where you can. Someone special needs a little piece of you.
