Shirl J Christensen passed away April 18, 2022, at home in Payson, Utah. He was born December 6, 1945, in Payson, Utah, to Jack H. and Beulah Faye Christensen of Spanish Fork, Utah. Shirl attended schools in Spanish Fork, graduating from Spanish Fork High School. Following graduation, he served in the Utah National Guard for five years, while also attending Utah State University.

After he graduated from Utah State University, he married Susan Munk. They were blessed with two children, Jace J. and Kelli, whom he dearly loved. Shirl and Susan later divorced.

Shirl married Pam Oberg Spencer in 1985, and gained two more children, Sharlyn and Kyle.

Shirl spent his career working for Travelers Insurance in Salt Lake City, Utah. Following retirement from the insurance industry, he loved working alongside his father-in-law, Marvin Oberg, at the farm in Genola, Utah. He also loved spending time in Mesquite, boating at Lake Powell, riding in his side-by-side, and all outdoor activities.

Surviving Shirl are his wife, Pam; his two children, Jace J. (Ali) Christensen and Kelli (Jason) Seymour, and Sharlyn (Todd) Jex, and Kyle (Laurel) Spencer. Shirl has 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Tom (Kaye) Christensen, Linda (Lee) Evans, Kaye (Jeff) Brummett, and Jill (Rod) Christensen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack H. and Beulah Christensen; a grandson, Nathan Christensen; and his in-laws, Marvin and Joan Oberg; as well as a nephew, Tyson Brummett.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 12:00 Noon, at the Genola Cemetery on South Main Street, Genola, Utah 84655. Prior to the graveside service, family and friends are invited to visit that morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah 84651.
