Cindy Gleaves

Aug 1, 2022

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Cindy (Mary Cynthia Beagley) Gleaves, 66, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed unexpectedly in her sleep on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Cindy was born on June 1, 1956, in Payson, Utah. She was the only daughter of five children to Grant Robert Beagley and Evelyn (Caras) Beagley. She was a pillar of strength for her family and left a legacy of love for her children, grandchildren, and all those she knew.

Cindy dedicated her life to her family and friends and felt called to serve those she loved. She had a great passion for dance. She was on the Las Chalitas drill team for Spanish Fork High School where she graduated from in 1974. She also shimmied with Jean’s Golden Girls for many years, including at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Creativity was her superpower, and she shared her talents with many in the community. Her home was always decorated for the holidays, and everyone who visited was welcome with open arms, a listening ear, and some kind of treat.

Cindy valued hard work and modeled her work ethic and resiliency for her children. She worked for over a decade at Canyon View Medical Group, building lasting friendships with her peers. After retiring due to chronic illness, she loved exploring the world through her children. She had adventures in DC, New York City, Hawai’i, Washington, Louisiana, Arizona, and California (especially Disneyland), but Utah was always home. Cindy was always the loudest cheerleader in the bleachers, audience, and at home for her children and grandchildren.

Nothing brought Cindy more joy than knowing her children and grandchildren were happy and safe. She is survived by her seven adoring children: Patrick Gleaves (Leslie Makai), Natalie Gleaves, Benjamin Jacob Gleaves, Nicholas Gleaves, Andrea Gleaves, Brittney Peay (Jake), and Courtney Sessions (Matt). Her nine grandchildren who affectionately called her G-ma and Grandma: Jalen Lesieli Gleaves, Halle Evelani Gleaves, Tatem Siulua Gleaves, Asher Petuliki Gleaves, Emma Gleaves, Remington Mary Peay, Lucas Grant Sessions, Scarlett Sessions, and Tommy Clark Sessions. Four Brothers: Robert Beagley (Penny), Richard Beagley (Heather), Chad Beagley (Mona), and Ryan Beagley (Meg).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Evelyn. We are comforted at the thought of their happy reunion in heaven.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. located at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call that morning from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

In place of flowers, please consider donating in Cindy’s name to the Boys & Girls Club of Utah County, United Way of Utah County, or YWCA of Utah.
