Gregory Edwin Smith, 66 of Orem, Utah, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Many thanks to his dear friend and caretaker, Charles Wixom for always being there for Greg. Also, to Lake Ridge Senior Living for the loving care they gave to him during the last year of his life.

Greg was born on February 3, 1956 in Burlingame, California to Edwin and Evelyn Smith. He lived in several places before making his home in Utah. Greg married Judith Baker on August 21, 1982 in Washington and had five children, 4 sons and 1 daughter. They later divorced.

He worked several years for Asplund Tree Trimming Co. Greg was a very hard worker and he loved the outdoors. He had a real love for animals, especially horses. He raised and trained them, along with racing them for many years. His dog Jed was always by his side.

In November 1993, an accident caused Greg sever head trauma which changed his life forever. The doctors said it was a miracle that he survived and progressed as far as he did. He was a fighter and along with the love and help from his parents and family, he came a long way.

Greg was member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and despite his head injury, he was able to serve in the temple for many years.

He will be missed by his family and close friend, Charles. He is now with his parents and older sister Linda.

Greg is survived by his siblings, Gloria (Guenter) Schkrohowsky of St. George, Utah, Carol Laidler of Spanish Fork, Utah and Lauretta Allred of Lehi, Utah. His five children Greg, Chad, Nathan, Cody and Brianna, along with 8 grandchildren, which all live in Washington. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Ed and Evelyn and sister Linda.

Graveside service will be held in Kanosh, Utah on August 27 at 1:00 PM which will be a small service for the family.
