Vera was born December 14, 1929 at Heyburn, Idaho. The daughter of Charles and Zelda Fisher.

She married Ross Gates on June 1, 1953, they were later divorced.

She married Robert Nelson on October 15th 1994 in Provo.

Vera worked as the Utah County Elections supervisor for 14 years and later in the Utah County Economic Development Agency.

Vera was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Robert, Mother Zelda, Father Charles, Sister Zelma, Brothers Glenn & Ronald and a grandson Cole.

She is survived by her Son: Steven (Deniece) Gates of Chubbuck Idaho, Daughter; Lori Miller of Sutherlin Oregon, Brothers; Vernon Fisher of Kuna Idaho & Lloyd Fisher of Boring Oregon; 15 Grand Children, 33 Great grand Children.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 27th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sutherlin Oregon.
