MELINDA REYNOLDS PORTER JACOBSEN
7 September 1974 – 26 August 2022
Melinda “Mindy” Jacobsen. After living a physically challenging pain-filled life, Melinda triumphantly returned to our loving Heavenly Father on August 26, 2022. Born to Harold and Nancy S Reynolds in Provo, Utah, on September 7, 1974, she grew up in Orem, Utah; Kansas City, Missouri; Hemet, California; and Snowflake, Arizona. She loved every place she lived, and so many people in those places loved her right back!
On June 9, 1995, she married Allen Porter, and from that short marriage came her beautiful daughter, McKayla. Then on February 11, 2000, she married her true love, Paul R Jacobsen, in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. They were blessed with two more beautiful daughters, Emily and Kloee. McKayla has brought Lexie and Dacen, 2 delightful and choice grandchildren to the family. How Melinda loves her family!
Though Melinda suffered with lower extremity impairment and numerous physical health issues, she never allowed those struggles to define her. She found it frustrating to so often be asked why she needed crutches or a wheel chair. She pushed herself to succeed in a variety of ways so others could see what she could do, rather than focusing on her disabilities. A few years back, she, with Paul’s help, practiced walking up and down nearby hills. Then, with her crutches and accompanied by her family, she climbed to Timp Cave and back!
Melinda loves the Lord and found great joy in doing Family History work and serving in the temples of the Lord. We delight in pondering the joyful reunions she is now having with those hundreds and thousands of ancestors for whom she served in the temples. Way to Be, Melinda!
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Church at 1138 East 100 South, Payson. Visitations will be held there also that morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
