Mary Jean Bellows Beardall

Dec 2, 2022

Mary Jean Bellows Beardall passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a 7-year battle with Dementia on November 29, 2022 in American Fork, Utah. Mary was born on September 21, 1950, to Lynn and NaDean Bellows. She was the third of five daughters. Mary spent both her childhood and her adult life in Orem, Utah. She attended Orem High School. In 1969 she married Darrell Beardall and was later sealed on September 26, 1974 in the Provo Utah LDS Temple and together they raised five children. Mary was an amazing wife and mother, was fiercely loyal to her family, and was passionate in assuring that her family spent quality time together.

Mary loved reading, doing crafts, and traveling. Mary was a lifelong learner, due to both her extensive reading and her undying interest in both local, national news and politics. She had an unmatched work ethic and was able to establish and grow her own successful insurance company. She loved helping others, whether they were clients, family members, or friends, and given her business sense and passion for service, Mary was able to take care of countless others’ physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Mary was always creating fun memories for her loved ones. She would look for any excuse to have fun and to make others laugh. She was an outstanding cook and often expressed her love for others through her awesome food. She always believed in being prepared and kept enough emergency food storage for her entire extended family.

Mary was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served the Lord in many ways. She held many church callings and spent countless hours indexing names for family history and temple work. Mary loved the Savior. Her Christ-like compassion and kindness led her children, her grandchildren, and many others to know and love Jesus Christ. Mary will forever be remembered for her amazing Sunday dinners, her love of Shirley’s rolls, her seashell hunts on the beach, and nearly always having a book in one hand and a phone in the other.

Mary is survived by her husband Darrell and her children Tracy (Chub) Gillman, Travis (Emily) Beardall, Rachel (Rob) Wagoner, Missy (Russ) Bezzant, and Jessica (Matthew) Huffaker. Her legacy includes 23 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren (with two more on the way). She will be profoundly missed.

Visitations will be held on Monday, December 5th from 6-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, December 6th from 9:30-10:45 a.m. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Mary’s visitations and funeral will all be held at the Sunset Heights 4th Ward building at 500 South, 600 West in Orem. The family wishes to express sincere thanks and gratitude for the individuals, friends, and family who have helped care for mom, especially Beehive Homes in American Fork, Utah.
