Edward Brown Beck

Edward Brown Beck, age 84, passed away peacefully January 5, 2022, at his home in Spanish Fork, Utah. He was born February 10, 1937, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Ross F. and Erma Brown Beck. Edward graduated from Spanish Fork High School where he lettered in both track and basketball and enjoyed playing sports.

Edward married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Finch, March 3, 1956, and they were later sealed January 4, 1964, in the Manti Temple. Together they had four children.

He worked for the Department of Transportation for 34 years. He began his employment as an equipment operator. He ended his career as a District Maintenance Supervisor. After retirement, he enjoyed golfing with Ron Johnson, Bob Backman, and Mark Boyack; and, in his later years, his weekly rides with Gary Roach and Robert Larsen.

Ed especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, and spending time at the family property with his family and friends. Edward was an active member of the 7th Ward for many years. He served as the High Priest Secretary and was a faithful home teacher for many years.

Edward is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Beck; his children: Ross (Shelley) Beck, Deborah Beck, Brian Beck, and Annalee Perry; sister,: Barbara (Dallas) Adams; in-laws: Don Cole, Tom and Judy Woodhouse, and Jim and Evelyn Finch; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross F. Beck, and Erma Brown Beck Boyack; stepfather, Glen Boyack; sisters: Jane Ann Cole, Erma Lee (Dick) Bills; and son in-law, David Perry.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the 7th Ward Chapel, 761 East 400 North, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may attend a visitation from 9:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
