Gloria Dawn Jenson

Gloria Dawn Jenson passed away at her home on January 7, 2022, at the age of 93. Gloria was born to Edgar M. and Ivie May Jenson in Provo on July 6, 1928.

She attended school in Provo where she graduated from BY High and received a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. After graduation, she managed the library at Dixie College for three years. Gloria then attended Columbia University where she received a Master’s degree in Library Science. Gloria returned to Provo taking a position in the cataloging department in the BYU Library. She eventually rose to become the head of the cataloging department. After retirement, she continued into her 80s to volunteer in Special Collections at the BYU Library.

She was a loyal BYU fan attending football and basketball games as well as many other activities. Gloria also spent a lot of time in Pine Valley, Utah where she and her sister had a small cabin. She especially loved nature and the great outdoors of Utah.

Gloria was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings.

Her life revolved around her family, friends and work. She was a second mother to her niece and nephews whose lives she blessed in innumerable ways.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Beverly, her sister and brother-in-law Nellie, and Herman Adams. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Deanna Adams, William Adams, Keith, and Jolene Adams, as well as several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11 am at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Provo, 85 East 300 South, Provo. Family and friends may visit that morning from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment will be Monday, January 17, 2022, at 1 pm in the Pine Valley Utah Cemetery. Condolences may be offered online at www.walkersanderson.com.
