Boyd Hooley
Boyd Hooley passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, January 15, 2022. His daughter, Neddra two sons, Rodney and Eric had the honor to share his last peaceful moments.
Dad was born March 31, 1928 to Lee and Thelma Hooley, one of nine children raised on the family farm in Orem, Utah. After graduating from Pleasant Grove High School, he enlisted in the army with his brothers and other local men who he shared a lifetime of experiences which are now fond memories. He loved talking about his service in Guam. After leaving the army, he married the love of his life, Glenna. He would often say “I went around the world to find love and found the love of my life in Gardena, California” through friends and family. After retiring from his trucking career, they settled in Lindon, Utah. He took amazing care of his wife as she battled many illnesses. She was very proud and loved him unconditionally. After mom passed over, his greatest love was his dogs Muttley, and later Mutsey. Riding his lawnmower was the secret to his long life. He was our hero and will be deeply missed.
Boyd is survived by his four children: Neddra, Debbie, Rodney and Eric Hooley; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and sister, Gaylin Beveridge.
P.S. Our dad loved reading the obituaries and remembering the times he had with the people he associated with during his life.
