Barry Michael Roth, 81, passed away on January 12, 2022, in Lehi, Utah

Barry was born on November 6, 1940, in San Mateo, California to Eugene and Reta Daly Roth. He married Linda Millis in Manti, Utah in 1966. Barry grew up in the Bay Area, California and graduated from De Anza High School in 1958. He was in the Army Reserve for six years and the US Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1960-61. He served in Indiana and Michigan as part of the Great Lakes Mission from 1962-64. He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Brigham Young University. He worked six years for the US Department of Interior while living in Alexandria, Virginia. He began his teaching career at middle schools in Hawthorne and Dublin, California in 1966. He started teaching at Utah Technical College (now UVU) in 1972. He earned the rank of Professor and taught mathematics for 38 years at Utah Valley University. He retired in 2010. Barry enjoyed visiting State and National Parks, sports, church activities and serving in his church callings.

He is survived by his former wife, Linda Roth; his two children, Christina Paskett and Michael Roth; his sister, Sally Lyde, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Jeanie Hutchings and Sherry Parke.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Grandview 4th Ward Chapel, 1081 W 1060 N in Provo, Utah. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Interment: Provo Cemetery.
