Eva Carole Bertelsen

Jul 6, 2022

1933 – 2022

Our beloved wife, mom, and grandma, Eva Carole Bertelsen, passed away July 4, 2022, in Springville, Utah. She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, on October 8, 1933. She grew up in several different cities around Utah before finally settling in Springville.

She married Scott Bertelsen on September 16, 1950. The marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Utah Temple on January 14, 1977. Scott fell in love with Carole the moment he saw her and pursued her until she finally relented and went out with him. The rest is history. They loved to travel together, whether it was pulling their trailer to different places across the country or following the BYU football team with the Cougar Club, it didn’t matter, they just wanted to be together. They went out to dinner and a movie every Friday night with their best friends, Dick and Lou Gene Carter. Scott and Carole were always together. Their love for each other, right up until Carole’s passing, was a sweet example for all who knew them. They were able to live a wonderful life together for almost 72 years.

Carole was known for her beauty and her great sense of style. This was something that lasted throughout her whole life, even to the extent of picking out a cane that would look cute with all her outfits. Carole showed kindness and unconditional love to everyone around her. She loved her family and they loved her. She loved being with her family, no matter what the occasion was, whether it was camping, a family party, or just hanging out, she loved when everyone was together.

Carole loved her four children and their spouses and was “mom” to all. She adored her grandchildren. She made life heaven for them all growing up. She went the extra mile to make each and every one of them feel loved with extra treats their parents didn’t let them have, letting them try on her shoes and jewelry, or the frequent sleepovers with good movies and trailer cushions. They never questioned if they were loved.

She is survived by her husband Scott, and their four children; Brad (Darlene) Bertelsen, Peg (Rand) Johnson, Rick (Lori) Bertelsen, Kirk (Gena) Bertelsen; her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Dudley, her stepfather, Byron Williams, and her father, Jack Finch.
