Edward McQuarrie Bunker Jr
Edward McQuarrie Bunker Jr, 92, graduated this life, Friday, July 8th, 2022 with his sweetheart, Darlene, at his side & surrounded by family.
Born February 19, 1930, the eldest of eight children of Edward McQuarrie & Marguerite Annie Hyde Bunker.
Throughout his life he lived in Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Washington, Alaska and Great Britain. After graduating from American Fork High School, Edward served a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Great Britain from 1949-1951. Upon returning from his mission, he served in the Army and was deployed to Washington, then on to Alaska. While in Washington, he met Darlene Ann Kent, the love of his life; they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on 12/20/1957.
Edward and Darlene welcomed 8 boys and 6 girls to their home. He loves being a father and always said his family is his greatest joy. A true farm boy at heart, Edward loved good hard work and instilled that ethic into each of his children. Working until you were bone tired was “good for you.” The last 30 years he owned and operated Bunker Lawn Care. Caring & ministering to those in need came naturally to him and he used that gift to bless thousands. Edward cherished knowledge and became a walking encyclopedia throughout his 92 years. Increasing in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man, (Luke 2:52); as he followed his Savior’s example. He served as the Savior did. Edward served in many church callings, including as a templer worker at the Mt. Timpanogos temple for 22 years.
