Everett Kwock Sung Young

Everett Kwock Sung Young, born June 26, 1944, to Clarence and Ruth Young in Honolulu Hawaii, went home on Friday, July 22, surrounded by his loved ones in Provo, Utah.

He grew up in Kaimuki, Hawaii. He served in the Navy as a Radioman, 3rd Class aboard the destroyer, the USS Picking in the Vietnam War. He graduated from San Jose State and Weber State with two Bachelor of Science degrees: Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.

Everett joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1975. He married Corinne Johnson, April 1976.

His employment included Bell Telephone in California, Beehive International and Novell in Utah. Once retired he worked for a short time at M Star and as a substitute teacher.

Dedicated to the service of others, he served as a scout master, in numerous church callings, always cooking for the masses and is remembered as the most faithful home teacher anyone ever had. He was the embodiment of a true Christian.

Always an Eagle Scout, Everett could fix anything and pursued many hobbies! He and his wife enjoyed traveling to many countries including the cobblestones of Pompei and the steps of the Egyptian Pyramids. Countless hours were spent in the garage, welding, woodworking, copying recipes, making bread, sewing, painting, taking piano lessons, reading how-to books, cooking, and continually learning.

His legacy of testimony, love, and service lives on through his wife, Corinne; children, Jacquelyn Howard (John), Leilani Russell (Rusty), Nicole Conley (Jared), David (Nalani, deceased) Michael (Rachel); 14 grandchildren: Robert, Ammon, Emma, Keilani, Makaio, Kawika, Kaijah, Aaron, Indi, Aria, Isla, Mei, Nainoa, Kai; and his sister, Lethia Lee.

A Viewing will be held Thursday, August 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at Utah Valley Mortuary, 1966 West 700 North, Lindon, Utah

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 5th, at 11:00 am, at the Sunset Heights Stake Center, 1260 South 400 West, Orem, Utah, where a Viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment with Military Honors in Provo City Cemetery.
