Merrill C Beck, age 87, passed away on February 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 14, 1934 to Calvert and Lillian Greenwood Beck in a small home located on 2nd East in American Fork. He spent his entire life living on that same street. He married his eternal sweetheart of 59 and a half years, Linda Carson, in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1962.
Shortly after his graduation from American Fork High School he served in the East Central States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended BYU and SUU and worked for Alpine School District in the maintenance and transportation departments.
Merrill and Linda were blessed with six children: Jeff (DeLayna), Shiree (Dean), Debbie (Dale), Steve (Shauna), Linn (Karen) and Susan (Justin). They also had the opportunity to have two foster sons, Francis and Irvin, from the Indian Placement Program. The focus and joy of his life was his family including 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with seven on the way. He enjoyed many trips and outings with his family.
His passion was building; he was a master carpenter and built many homes and created beautiful things with his talent. He had a special reverence for all God’s creatures and loved all his farm animals. Merrill always had a pet dog.
Merrill had an unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored Gospel. He served in many capacities in the Church and was always a faithful member. He felt especially blessed to serve a mission with his wife as his companion in the Atlanta Georgia Mission. He had a great love for the southern people. He also enjoyed working in the temple.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvert and Lillian Beck, brother Lyman Beck, sister Arlene Wright and numerous cousins and friends.
