Dr. Alan R. Morgan

Dr. Alan Roberts Morgan, our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend completed his earthly mission on March 2, 2022.

Alan was born May 12, 1933, in Provo, Utah to J. Rulon and Fern Roberts Morgan. He grew up in Provo and graduated from B.Y. High School as a valedictorian. While at B.Y. High he met and married Jeanene Brown. They have been married for 71 years. Alan attended the U of U, BYU, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the Army as a dentist for 6 years in the states and overseas. He returned to Provo where he practiced Dentistry for 42 years. Alan was a member of the Provo District Dental Society, Utah Dental Association, Utah State Dental Health Committee, and the American Dental Association. For 25 years, Alan was a member of the Sertoma International Organization and he was proud to fire off the cannon to kick off the Provo Freedom Festival parade. Alan was a member of the National Organization of The Sons of the Utah Pioneers. Alan had a love of sports, including skiing, hunting, golfing, fishing, and world traveling. He was an avid BYU fan, and Cougar Club member. He also had a love of the Arts. Alan is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions.

Alan is survived by his wife, Jeanene, sister, Jaynann Morgan Payne, children: Cathreen Stevens, John David, Rebecca Corwell (John), James Alan (Sue), Jeffrey Earl (JeraLeigh), and Jaylan Brown (Amy), 23 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Dean Payne, son-in-law Kent Stevens and grandson-in-law Mike Versluis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Oak Hills 5th Ward Chapel, 1960 North 1500 East, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Friday, March 11 from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
