Gilbert (Bert) Lynn Liddiard

Gilbert (Bert) Lynn Liddiard passed away at his home on March 11, 2022, at the age of 92. Bert was born on September 22, 1929 in Provo, Utah to John Albert and Vera Garrett Liddiard. He was the youngest of 7 children. He attended Franklin Elementary, Dixon Junior High, and Provo High. He graduated in 1947 and attended BYU. He married LaRee Holbrook on October 11, 1953, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 25, 1958.

Bert joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War in January 1951 and served for 2 years as an MP at Fort MacArthur, California. He started working for Telluride Motor Company when he was 13. He worked for Smith Auto, Payson Auto, Orson Brothers, and Golden West Lincoln Mercury and NAPA Auto Parts. He worked for W.W. Clyde Company, retiring in 1990.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had many callings as Ward Clerk during his life. He served with his wife on a mission at the Bishops’ Storehouse. They also served weekly in the temple for 30 years. He was an excellent Home Teacher and Ministering Brother.

Bert and LaRee went everywhere as a couple. They traveled extensively, visiting most of the United States and many European countries. He had many close friends throughout his life and continued to enjoy meeting with each of them regularly. He loved his family and was so grateful that they continued to enjoy being together.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for Heather Lyman, of Maple Creek Hospice and all his friends and family that loved and cared for Bert during his life. He loved you all.

He is survived by his children: VeraLynn (Von) Isaman, Jeff (Jacque) Liddiard, Marjorie Rounds, Megg (Terry) Hawkins, Dwight (Brenda) Liddiard, Paul (Brenda) Liddiard, Heather (Glen) Goins, and sister-in-law Charlene Liddiard. He has 17 grandchildren, 18 great­grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife LaRee, sisters and brothers; Edyth (Vernon) Richardson, Clayton (Doris), Duane, Preston (Betty), Elva (George) Ungricht, and Kenneth; his son-in-law Kent Rounds, grandson-in-law Gregory Young and grandson Rydel Isaman.

In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or your favorite charity.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. located at Spanish Fork 3rd Ward Chapel, 575 West 400 North, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may attend a visitation on Thursday evening, March 17, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. located at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah; and from 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral. The interment will be at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery located at 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah.
