Melissa Lynn Wolsey
Our sweet loving daughter and sister Melissa Lynn Wolsey passed away unexpectedly in her home in Spanish Fork, Utah from an illness on Thursday, March 17, 2022. She was born in Bountiful, Utah on May 19, 1972. She grew up being the youngest of four children (getting spoiled and doted on by her older siblings) and attended church and school in Orem, Utah. At the age of 18, she was involved in a sand rail accident which tragically caused her to become a paraplegic. For the next 31 years, she faced a daunting and seemingly insurmountable challenge of living life in a wheelchair. She faced that challenge every day with hope, optimism, a sense of humor, and incredible strength, courage, and dignity. Even though her daily life was difficult, she was known for being happy with a positive attitude and she laughed often. She loved spending time with her friends, of which, she had many. Melissa was very caring, giving, and generous to a fault. She had a lifelong love of dogs and a passion for saving endangered wolves. She had an interest in cars and especially loved her first Camaro. She worked very hard to be independent and was willing to try new experiences, such as driving a car, riding snowmobiles, boating, camping, and even jet skiing. You could put a smile on her face with a successful shopping trip and some good Chinese food. Throughout her life, she endured many hardships and became an amazing example to all of us in how to do the best you can with all of life’s daily struggles, of which, she had more than most. She fought hard every day for as long as she could. For all of us who were blessed to know her, she was our hero and is now our guardian angel.
She is leaving behind her Dad, T. Mark Wolsey, her brothers and sister, T. DeVere Wolsey, J. Brian (Debi) Wolsey, Krissy (Richard) Peterson. Eight nieces and nephews. Seven great-nieces and nephews and the rest of her family and friends, all of whom, she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her Mom Lynetta B. Wolsey and her five furry four-legged children Saber, Sierra, Shay, Tayla, and Ally.
A Funeral will be held at Walker Mortuary at 187 S Main St, Spanish Fork, Utah on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. There will be a viewing at 11:00 am followed by services at 12:00pm.
She will be laid to rest in the Provo City Cemetery.
