Philip Ford
1933 — 2022
Philip Eldon Ford, 89, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 29, 2022. Philip was born April 4th, 1933 to William and Sarah Ford in Orem, Utah where he lived most of his life with the exception of living in Alaska for six years. Philip married his sweetheart, Shelda Jean Jacobson on January 12th, 1952. They were happily married for 70 years. They loved being social together and were proud members of the Eagles club where Philip held the position of President. Philip worked hard all his life doing flooring installation, he was certainly a handyman and built their family home in 1960 where he and Shelda raised their beautiful family and shared a lifetime of memories. He loved being outside, planting tomatoes, and taking care of his yard. The Ford family reunion was always the highlight of the summer, taking place in the mountains where he loved to be, sometimes having 300 people in attendance. Philip was so loving, caring, and always accepted people with open arms, he always had a story to tell and his family loved hearing them, the tall tales and the true ones. Family was what he treasured the most in his life, he was so proud to have 5 beautiful children, 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Shelda, his children Teri (Glen) Brown, Shelly Wright, Julie (Ron) Penrod, and Mark (Julie) Ford, and his brother Mont Ford. He is preceded by his parents William and Sarah, his daughter Emily and his siblings Joe, Leo, Dean, Melba, Elwood, Don, and Norma.
A celebration of life will be held to honor him and share memories on Friday, May 6th at 11:00. 365 south 900 east Orem, Ut 84097.
