Douglas Kim Strasburg

Douglas Kim Strasburg passed away on May 18, 2022, at the age of 71, at his home in Loma Rica, California. Doug was born on November 2, 1950, in American Fork, Utah, to Donald Louis Strasburg and Rachel Hitchcock. Doug was lovingly raised by his Aunt and Uncle, Glen Strasburg and Dorothy Chipman Strasburg.

Doug was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Doug was also an Eagle Scout. Doug graduated from American Fork High School in 1969. Doug served in the United States Navy from 1971-1973, and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. During his working career, Doug served as the Assistant Service Manager for Dictaphone Corp. for a number of years. After Dictaphone closed its business, Doug served as a Network Engineer for two other companies until he retired in 2010. His skills and abilities in Field Service as a Technician were truly extraordinary.

Doug loved spending time with his family and loved playing his guitar, listening to music, muscle cars, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Doug had a very funny sense of humor and could never stay away from cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, Whoppers, Snickers, M&Ms, and Pistachios.

Doug is survived by his wife, Lana Sue Paxton Strasburg; daughter, Brittany Michelle Strasburg Stoller Povey (Jason), honorary daughter, Estella Escobar; grandson, Joshua Douglas Stoller; sisters, Janet Day, Ellen Martin; brothers, Max Strasburg (Allyson), Randy Adams, Robbie Chidester; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his biological parents and his Aunt and Uncle who raised him; brothers, Evar Jay, Glen Dee, Colin; sister, Susan; brothers-in-law Robert Day and Robert Martin.

Doug was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. At his request, no funeral services will be held. Doug requested that he be cremated and left instructions with his family as to his desires with regard to the disposition of his ashes.
