Joyce Larsen Story

Nov 3, 2022

Joyce Larsen Story was born on March 29, 1930 in Ephraim, Utah to Christian Rudolph and Bertha Bessey Larsen. She was the youngest of six children: Randolph LaMar Larsen, Fern Larsen Jorgenson, Ruth Larsen Johnson, Geniel Larsen DeMill and Boyd Larsen.

Her early years were spent in Ephraim and while attending Snow as a high school student she met and fell in love with Keith D. Story, a college boy. They were married on June 24, 1947, in the Manti Temple. After marriage they finished their education in Ephraim but moved soon afterwards to Salt Lake so Keith could attend Pharmacy School at the University of Utah. After graduation, after stops in Kamas and Spanish Fork they moved to Pleasant Grove where in 1963 they opened Story Pharmacy, which they ran for over 24 years until their retirement.

Joyce and Keith were the proud parents of eight children: Mary Jo (Kayle) Kirk, Bertha Sue Story, Scott (Paula) Story, Sandy (Ron) Channell, Randy (Christy) Story, Ronald (Michelle) Story, Tina (Shae) Porter and Shaun (Bonnie) Story, 28 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, two daughters Mary Jo and Bertha Sue and two grandchildren Keith and Kami.

Throughout her whole life Joyce responded to life’s seemingly never-ending challenges with courage, optimism, and determination. She loved fiercely and was deeply loyal to those she loved always putting their needs above hers. She loved spending time with her family arranging trips to Bear Lake and Park City which are remembered fondly as were the annual Christmas parties where she loved having everyone together.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Battlecreek 5th Ward Chapel, 825 South Loader Drive, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 -10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery next to her beloved Keith. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
