Oct 4, 2022

April 8, 1960 — September 29, 2022

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Bryan M Chatterley, aged 62. Bryan passed away at his home in Sterling, Alaska. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Bryan was born in Utah to Sandra and Lou Chatterley. He was a lover of life and adventure. He became a father at the age of 16 and truly was an amazing dad. He moved to Alaska with his wife to raise his family near the Kenai River in Soldotna, Alaska.

Bryan was always a hard worker and a man of many talents. He worked in carpentry, roofing, fish processing, upholstery, and eventually settled into a 25 plus year career in the oil and gas industry. Bryan worked his way up from roustabout, sewing insulation blankets for the pipeline, to foreman for various companies in Prudhoe Bay, where he was a decorated firefighter and EMT.

His truest talent was sewing and reupholstering anything from furniture to classic cars and he was a master of his craft.

Bryan loved his life in Alaska, enjoying hobbies such as fishing, golfing, snow machining, target shooting, four-wheeling with his grandkids and visiting his daughter and grandkids in Wyoming and family in Utah.

Bryan was always willing to lend a helping hand, as he was such a kind and affectionate man. He cared deeply for his family, his wife of 39 years, and especially his grandkids. He was a father figure to many and happily accepted that role. His arms were always open with meaningful and comforting hugs, his smile was infectious, he had a wonderful sense of humor, and he always had a non-judgmental shoulder to lean on. He will be desperately missed by those he left behind. We are proud, honored, and privileged to have been in his life and to have experienced his wisdom, kindness, and unconditional love. He was an amazing human and he will be greatly missed.

Bryan was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra. He is survived by his wife, Dana Chatterley and daughters Brandi, Angie, Heather and Kelly Chatterley. He is survived by his niece Stacie Hopper and nephew Michael Anderson and his Grandkids, Dylan, Bryce, Irelyn, Otto, Luck, Alexandra, Ozlo, Lola, Audrey, and Lydia. He is also survived by his father, Lou Chatterley and his siblings, Matt Chatterley, Mike Chatterley, Tim Chatterley, Jeff Chatterley, Ed Chatterley, and Jenny Gray, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews.
