Bryant James Powell

Bryant James Powell 72, of Yuma, AZ, and Lehi, UT passed away on September 21st, 2022.
Bryant was born in Lehi on January 3rd, 1950 to Pearl Hicks Powell and Dean Bevan Powell. He grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from PGHS in 1968. He married Linda Elaine Dutson, and had 3 daughters (Alecia, Tameron, and Britton), but later divorced. He married Burdette Jane Jensen, in 1972, and happily became a father to Ryan, Adam, and Lisa. They later adopted 2 infants (Aaron & Alec) in 1991 and 1992.
Following the death of his wife Burdette in 2014, Bryant started dating and married Vickie Austin, whom he had known for many years. Vickie had 3 beautiful daughters and a son that became a very important part of his world. They moved to Yuma, AZ where they began a new life in 2016. They enjoyed traveling, off-roading in the desert, karaoke, spending time with new friends, and spending many evenings at car races.
Bryant worked as an industrial glazier and worked heavily with the Steelworkers Union and was a lifelong supporter of Union work. He was a very hard-working man, always willing to help his neighbors, friends, and family. He rebuilt the family home in Lehi and was always working on a project.
Bryant was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served several callings. He was a hilarious man, with contagious laughter that filled a room and will forever be missed by those that loved him.
Bryant is survived by his 8 children: Ryan (Brandy Lux), Alecia Powell Collins, Adam Lux, Tameron Powell, Britton Powell (Mike Sherman), Lisa Dawn Powell, Aaron Powel, and Alec Powell. He is also survived by his wife Vickie Austin of Yuma, AZ. He left behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Laurel Sprouse Holdaway (Wayne), Phyllis (Steven) Sorenson, Fern (Karl) Falaschi, and Mitchell Powell. Preceded in death by his wives: Linda Elain Kearns & Burdette Jane Powell, his mother and father, brother Martin Powell, sister, Dawna Powell Christesen, brother Dean B. Powell Jr, and sister Rosemary Gouchenour.
We have chosen to abide by his wishes and will not be having a formal viewing, funeral, or graveside service. Thank you to the family and community of people who loved and adored our father and husband. He will be missed in profound ways by each of us.
