Rhea Dell Norton Hadlock

Rhea Dell Norton Hadlock, beloved wife, mother, and Granny, rejoined her eternal companion, Lonnie Carlton Hadlock, on October 7, 2022. Rhea was born on July 7, 1942, in Los Angeles, California to Orrin Elroy Norton and Della Morrill. She moved to Utah as a young child, where she spent the remainder of her life.
Rhea had a warm, lively personality and great capacity to love. She had a wide circle of friends, and she had a special ability to bring people together. She enjoyed planning celebrations, from high school and family reunions to epic Easter egg hunts. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and attending book club with her dear friends.
Rhea had many talents and hobbies that she cultivated throughout the years. She was a talented embroiderer, cake decorator, scrapbooker, and party planner. Her family looked forward to her holiday celebrations, which she planned for months, pulling out all the stops. She was an avid reader and a dedicated Jazz fan.
Rhea was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as Relief Society President and Primary President, among other callings. She spent several years of service with her husband, Lonnie, in the Mount Timpanogos Temple, and she also devoted much time to family record extraction.
Rhea’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she is dearly loved by her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who know her as “Granny”), siblings, nieces and nephews, and many more. She was a supportive, compassionate matriarch, who nurtured, advised, and offered unconditional love and support. She led by example, and her kindness, warmth, and selfless services influenced many lives.
Rhea is survived by five children, Geneal Majors, Lonnie (Denise) Hadlock, Susan Jensen, Lisa (Winnie) Thompson, and Donald Hadlock; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and her brothers Arlen (Judy) Norton and Leonard Norton. She is preceded in death by her husband Lonnie; parents Orrin and Della; siblings Leon, Robert “Bob”, Ina Mae, Richard Keith; and grandson, Brooks.
