Calvin T Whiteley
1935 — 2022
Calvin T Whiteley, 87 returned to his Heavenly Father surrounded by family on October 26, 2022 in North Ogden, Utah. He was born on July 8, 1935 to Otten Adams Whiteley and Bernece Boulton Whiteley in American Fork, Utah. He was raised in Lindon, Utah and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1954. He served a mission in the North Central States.
Calvin served nearly 9 years in the Army National Guard. When he was stationed at Fort Lewis, he met the love of his life while attending church in Tacoma, WA. They were married and sealed for eternity on June 21, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They were married 59 years.
Calvin was a faithful member of the North Ogden 16th Ward and Coldwater Creek Branch in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings including branch clerk for a youth correction facility. His favorite calling was serving as temple worker in the Ogden Temple for several years.
Calvin was a prime example of a hard worker. He was employed at Cream O’ Weber dairy for 32 years as an ice cream plant manager and worked as a sales representative at Farr’s Ice Cream. He frequently picked up side-jobs, doing landscape maintenance and was pleased with teaching good work ethics to his children. He cherished his wife and family. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He had many friendships that he also cherished. He had a tremendous love for gardening, horse riding, sports, watching BYU games, and coaching his boys’ teams. He was a loving and selfless person and will be deeply missed.
Calvin is survived by his children, Wendell (Mindy) Whiteley, L. Todd (Nikki) Whiteley, Robert (Michelle) Whiteley, Shelene (Kent) Woodhouse, and Michelle (Gary) Malmgren; grandfather of 22 individuals; and great grandfather to 17 individuals. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Sweet Whiteley; his parents, Otten Adams Whiteley and Bernece Boulton Whiteley; and his siblings, Kay Whiteley, Paul Whiteley, Leora Jensen, Marie Harper, and Mary Lou Bennett.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the North Ogden 16th Ward, 205 E. Elberta Dr., No. Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Ryan Cook and the Suncrest Hospice team and the staff at The Lodge at North Ogden. Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
