Born on July 21, 1948, in Fresno, California. Craig passed away on April 14, 2023 at the age of 74, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Craig was married to Ina Jeanette Andrews Petersen for twenty-four years. They were married in California and had five sons together. Jeanette passed away on May 8, 1995. Craig married Janine Davis on May 24, 1996, in Provo and they have been married for twenty-seven years in May. Together, with their ten children, twenty-four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, they have made many great memories. Craig loved getting together with family and playing with the kids. The kids absolutely love Papa and he loved them. Craig is always so kind to everyone he meets. He is known for being an amazing husband, great father, and for working hard for all of his life.

Craig served a two-and-a-half-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oslo, Norway. Upon returning from his mission, he attended both Brigham Young University and UVSC. Craig was drafted into the United States Army, where he served his country in Vietnam from 1970-1971. Craig was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Medal for his heroic actions during his service.

Craig worked as a traffic engineer for Provo City for two years. A change of career happened for Craig when he tested at the top of 200 people for the Provo Fire Department. Craig pursued his thirty-year career as an Engineer for the Fire Department. Craig also owned his own construction business called Allied Construction, where he mostly did remodeling jobs. He used his knowledge from his construction business to work as a realtor for nineteen years.

He owned a cabin at Vivian Park where the family would fish, river raft, and enjoy s’mores by the fire. Craig loved to take his boys to Mirror Lake to go fishing and camping. He is an avid runner, went hiking often, served others, went to the movies, attended events at the Scera Shell theater, and attended many BYU sporting events. He held many church service callings such as First Counselor in the Bishopric, served in the High Council, Mission Leader, Nursery Leader, etc.

Craig is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth May and Lester Petersen, his in-laws, Leonard and Joyce Andrews, his late wife Ina Jeanette Petersen, his in-laws, Margie and Howard E. Davis, and his brother-in-law, Stephen Davis.

Craig is survived by his wife, Janine Petersen, his children, Todd (Heather), Chadd, Garett (Amanda), Tyler (Stephanie), Tiffany (Steve), Janelle, Steven (Jeniece), Karalee (Charles), Mandy (Lacey), Trent, 24 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Sheldon), and brothers Randy (Becca) and Brian (Carol).

Craig will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Lakeside 3rd Ward Chapel, 102 North 2400 West, Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Thursday, April 20, from 6-8:00 p.m. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
