Jane Carter James

Jane Carter James was born August 10, 1928 in Provo, Utah to Elwood LeRoy Carter and Jennie Margaret Wood Carter.

She attended School at Measer Elementary, Farver Jr High and graduated from Provo High in 1946.

Jane married Armond James on May 4, 1946 and then they were sealed for time and all eternity on November 7, 1947 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Jane served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Primary President, Relief Society President, and 30 years in the German Name Extraction. She also served a mission with her husband in the Los Angeles Temple Visitor Center.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary, and daughter-in-law Elise Bunker James.

She is survived by her children Stephen James – Overton, Nevada, Sharon (Steve) Done – Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Gary (Tari) James – Kennedale, Texas. 20 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Hughes Mortuary from 10:30-11:30 with a graveside to follow at Tonaquint Cemetery.
