She was born on October 30, 1928, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where she lived most of her life. She was born to Miguel Petroni and Isabel Andrade and was the second oldest of five siblings. She later moved to Utah to live with her son Miguel, and they have lived there together since June 2016.

Delia was a sweet person who was very loved by her family and friends, as well as by her former pupils from elementary school and kindergarten, where she taught for many years until her retirement and will be missed terribly.

Delia is preceded in death by her parents, Miguel, and Isabel; two sisters Mary and Clara; and her husband, Guillermo Artemidoro Zevallos.

She is survived by her 4 children, Julieta, Cecilia, Maria Eugenia, and Miguel; by her two sisters, Pilar, and Nancy; 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
