Christine Cecile Hanson
December 31, 1955 — January 31, 2023
Provo — Christine C. Hanson, age 67, of Provo, UT, formerly Paxton, Nauvoo, and Western Springs IL (among many other places); died on January 31, 2023, preceded in death by her devoted parents Juanita A. Polanco and William B. Hanson, and beloved brother Michael Hanson; loving mother of Leia M. Roeges and Lawrence J. Patron; dear sister to Suzanne Perry, Victoria Spencer, Kathleen Brown, William, Timothy, Terence, David, Brian, and Amy Hanson.
Christine was an exuberant character in life, an enthusiastic journalist, had true wanderlust, and kept many writings from her life. She kept the following poem, which exemplifies how she chose to live her life:
THERE’S A BIGGER WORLD OUT THERE
There’s a bigger world out there
Go and explore it if you dare
It is easy to be done
Go out and search for the sun
A world with adventure for all
Who go beyond this garden wall.
There are lands so very dry
That are vast and the sky
There are many fertile lands
That are tended by loving hands
Mountains that for miles are seen
And valleys that are bright and green
There is a land that is far and wide
And oceans with their flowing tide
You can travel high and travel low
And never all its wonders know.
Memorial service to be held February 16, 2023 at noon at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside, IL.
