1933 — 2023

Elaine H. Crandall passed peacefully on July 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born May 2, 1933 to Boyd and Norval Holmstead. A proud lifelong resident of Lehi, she grew up along the shores of Utah Lake. She married her sweetheart Lee Hardman in 1949 and together they began raising their two sons and daughter. When Lee passed in a car accident 10 years later, the true resilience of this remarkable woman triumphed. She worked at Penny’s in Lehi and studied to become a nurse. She married Paul Crandall and added another daughter to the family. She embodied the best characteristics of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and instilled kindness and a strong work ethic in her four children. Elaine worked in the kitchen of Lehi High School for many years and made the best cinnamon rolls on earth. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling in the RV with Paul, especially to Yellowstone and Arizona. Her quick wit and quiet strength will be fondly remembered along with her innate ability to make everyone feel loved. She was reunited in heaven with her parents, her love Lee, brother Kenneth Holmstead, sister Janet Peterson, daughter Tammy Sweat-Chipman (Alan), grandchildren Lindsey Hardman and Tyrel Sweat, and great-grandson Kayson Lambert. She is survived by her husband Paul, sisters Marilyn (Jim) Green, Tana (Jeff) Kunz, and Sheena. (John) Harr, children Jay (Ann) Hardman, JaLaine (Gary) Bezzant, Bart (Terri) Hardman, 20 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren.
