Jun 7, 2023

May 5, 1947 — May 31, 2023

Robert was the oldest child of N. Glen and Inez J. Brown, born May 5,1947, in Basin, Wyoming. His father was a lineman for the telephone company during Robert’s childhood, moving from town to town in South Dakota and Kansas, which decided Robert to stay in one place when he had his own family.

His siblings are Nancy, Ron, Karla, and Kevin. The family settled in Caldwell, Kansas, where Robert graduated from High School. He went to BYU for a year and then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany from 1966-1968 (Dusseldorf, Wuppertal, Essen). He met Heather L. Rillera in 1971 at BYU and they married in the Provo Utah Temple in 1972, the first year it was open. They spent 50 years together. Their children are Gregory, Carl, (Emilee), and Geoffrey (Meagan). They had 12 grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are siblings and their families, children, grandchildren, Hayley Scott Brown, and Dave and Robyn Cohoon.

Robert loved to serve in the church and had many positions including Bishop in the North Park 2nd Ward, Provo and in the stake. He liked to walk the ward boundaries in the evening to make sure everybody was all right. He loved bird watching, aquariums, and plants-he could probably make an artificial plant grow.
