Francis Edward “Buck” Hesselgesser

Francis Edward “Buck” Hesselgesser, 97, of Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023. Born on June 2, 1926, in Valentine, Nebraska, to Harry and Mary Hesselgesser. Buck was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He was known for his unmatched work ethic, his love of dancing, and his passion for cowboy life. Buck married the love of his life, Nola, on May 15, 1947, in Lehman Caves, Nevada. Together, they created a beautiful family and legacy of love. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Buck served in many positions and lived his faith daily.
Buck served in the US Navy during World War II, and upon returning home, he worked at various jobs, a butcher, a painter, tire store owner, Highway department, car salesman, shovel and drill Mechanic for Kennecott, and a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating Intermountain Soft Water in Ogden, Utah, until his retirement in 1989. He was a devoted husband and father, always putting the needs of his family first. His hobbies included dancing, working with horses, and taking care of his beloved wife, Nola. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Buck is survived by his loving wife, Nola; his children, Butch Hesselgesser, Becky Porter (Milo), Cindy Lake (Kevin), Melany Lee (Clay), and LaMont Hesselgesser (Maria); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Hesselgesser; and siblings, Harriet Selle, Erwin, Mary Nollette, Phillip, Cecile Morgan, John, Boise, Sophie Littledike, and Nina Greenhalgh.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 5:00 pm at Myers Mortuary 5865 S 1900 W. Roy, UT., and prior to services on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 9:30 am at West Weber 1st Ward. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 11:00 am at West Weber 1st Ward 4100 W 900 S Ogden, Utah.
