Ronald Bentley Merrill, 85, passed away peacefully March 17, 2023 in the comfort of his home in Orem, Utah. Ron was a kind and gentle person. He will be missed and remembered by many whose lives he touched.

Ron was born December 30, 1937, to Evva Tervort and Charles Bentley Merrill in Provo, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Patricia Howard, June 2, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. He earned several college degrees including a Ph.D. in Physics and spent most of his career as an aerospace engineer. He loved gardening, sunbathing, woodworking, reading and telling stories to his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife; children, Sherie Stewart (Tyler) Phillips, Howard (Annie) Merrill, Glenn Merrill, Melissa (Roger) Payne; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Diane Daniels; and brothers David and George. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Duane.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 114 South 400 West, Orem, Utah. Support and hugs can be given to his beloved wife and family at the same church location both on Thursday evening, March 23rd from 6:00 7:30 pm and prior to the funeral from 9:30 10:30 am.
