He married his sweetheart Jacqueline Barnhart Feb. 8, 1951; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Aug. 7, 1972. They had 3 children: Aneta (Lee), LuAnn (Ron), & Phil (Kris). Together they had a loving marriage and their home was full of laughter and care for others.

Jackie passed away Feb. 28, 1986. Vaughn was a devoted husband and caregiver. LouCille Carlisle married Vaughn July 1, 1986 in the Jordan River Temple.

In addition to his own grandchildren, Vaughn became a surrogate grandfather to the children of Scott, Bob, Cindy, Ted, Cathy, & Jack. LouCille passed away June 10, 2012. In addition to his three children and their spouses, Vaughn is survived by 12 grandchildren (one preceded him in death), and 30 great-grandchildren. He was known for his wit, kindness, and will be sorely missed.

Funeral services for Vaughn will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Mountainville Ward Chapel, located at 165 North 100 East, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in the Alpine City Cemetery.
