Mandi Rene Ruiz Humphries

05/20/1983 — 05/10/2023
On a cloudy Wednesday afternoon, May 10, our Mandi Rene Ruiz Humphries took her last breath on earth and passed away in the arms of her love, Matthew Smith.
She spent the last decade of her life loving her boys, Hayden, Jaxton, Kadin, Braxton, Jace and Matt. She was extremely proud to go from a family of three to a family of seven. She loved nothing more than her family. Though she was small in stature, Mandi would keep you on your toes with her strong attitude and sharp comebacks. She enjoyed music and spending her days in the sun surrounded by her dogs, especially Billy, and her grand dog, Carlos. She wore the titles mother, daughter, partner, sister, aunt, and friend with such pride. While facing a list of ranging battles throughout her life, she stopped at nothing to let her people know that she loved them no matter what. The last days of her life were long ones, but she put up an incredibly tough fight, and her loved ones could not be more proud of her.
She was greeted by her father and her big brother who went before her. Mandi was born to her parents and best friends Juan and Mary Ruiz, on May 20, 1983, in Provo, Utah. She was the youngest of four siblings following her only sister Teresa (Chris) Hiatt, her oldest brother Tito (Joey) Ruiz, and her brother Andy Ruiz who proceeded her in death. Mandi was born and raised in warm neighborhoods where she made lifelong friends that she left everlasting impressions on. She attended Timpanogos Elementary, Dixon Middle School and Provo High School. However, her life really started when she welcomed her two sons. Her greatest accomplishments was having Hayden, her protector, in 2001, and Jaxton, her baby, in 2005 with her first husband Mike Humphries.
Mandi was never the same after losing her father in 2020, and expressed feelings that her grief was love with no place to go. Now, she has found her way back to him, and her beautiful spirit will live within us forever.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 6 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 E Center St., in Provo. The funeral will be held on Friday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 W 500 N, Orem.
Mandi’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Riverton Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center.
