1933 – 2023

Neal William Rosenbaum passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 11, 2023 in Salem, Utah. He was born June 19, 1933 in Delta, Utah to Benjamin (Bennie) and Mary Alice Manning Rosenbaum. He spent four years of his childhood in Delta before moving to Spanish Fork, Utah, along with his brothers Var and Ray and his sister Faye. He grew up in a wonderful home with parents that taught honesty and integrity. His earliest memories were of fishing and hunting in the River Bottoms and at home taking care of the chickens, cows, rabbits, and his dog, Trixie. During his teenage years, he worked as a projectionist at the Angelus Theater. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School, and furthered his education at Utah Trade Technical Institute, becoming a Master Electrician. He married the “girl across the street”, Nita Halversen, on November 3, 1951. They were blessed with six children: Kathryn (Parley) Fullmer, Dennis (Larraine Gull) Rosenbaum, Dee (Diane Malone) Rosenbaum, Duane Rosenbaum, Don (Suanne Gasser) Rosenbaum, and Kristine (LaMont) Leavitt. Neal and Nita raised their family with love, good humor, hard work, and a love for music. Everyone spent a lot of time around the piano singing together and playing instruments. For many years they performed at various clubs, meetings, and events. Neal’s favorite song, “No Man Is An Island”, has been sung in four-part harmony every year at the Rosenbaum Christmas party for the past 60 years. This family song has been and will be taught to all succeeding generations. Neal worked alongside his four sons in the family business, Rosenbaum Electric. He served in various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including bishop of the Spanish Fork 8th Ward, a ward family he loved very much. He loved living in Spanish Fork and being part of the community. Friends were important to Neal and cherished by him. He and Nita enjoyed get-togethers, New Years Eve parties, and traveling with their group of close friends they called “the gang”. Neal loved spending time in the mountains of Fairview, fishing and camping. Nita passed away on September 26, 1987. On October 14, 1989, Neal married Martha Horne Tingey Cook from Lake Shore. From October 1999 to March 2001, he and Martha served together in the England London South Mission. Together they enjoyed Martha’s eleven children and Neal’s six children, including spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. They always reported proudly on the numerous births, marriages, activities, and life achievements of each one. Family was the most important gift to Neal. He is preceded in death by his wife Nita, his son Don, his brother Var, and his sister Faye Bradford. He is survived by his wife Martha, his brother Ray, and his posterity who cherish him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1006 East 200 South, Spanish Fork, Utah. Visitation will be held at the same location on Friday, November 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 18, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
