Sondra Laurel (Harmon) Buckwalter

Sondra Laurel (Harmon) Buckwalter, 85, our beloved Matriarch, completed her mortal journey November 18, 2023. We love and miss her!

Sondra was born July 19,1938 in Price, Utah to Brigham Franklin Harmon and Eveline Jane Holden. She was a graduate of Carbon High School, Carbon College, and Brigham Young University.

Sondra married Doyle Wild Buckwalter in the Manti Utah Temple on July 20,1962. She was a wonderful support to him throughout their lives and found great joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a great sense of humor, and a twinkle in her eye. Mom was devoted to our family’s care. We always knew she loved us. She is the glue that holds our family together, and her love will continue to be our stability.

Sondra was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in countless callings throughout her life. From 2008-2010 she and Doyle served a Senior Mission at the Historic Kirtland Visitor Center. Most recently she enjoyed serving as Stake Patriarch Scribe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Phillip Terry Harmon, Don Michael Harmon, and sisters, Barbara Frances Harmon and Linda Louise Martin.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Doyle, children: Kristen (Ron) Bartholomew of Orem, UT, Beth (David) Schulte of Kokomo, IN, Wayne (Becky) Buckwalter of Orem, UT, Neal (Lynnette) Buckwalter of Grand Rapids, MI, 18 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
